If you've ever hung a chandelier, you know how frustrating it can be changing the chain length by bending the loops with a regular pair of pliers. Even more of a struggle is getting the loops back rogether again without marring the finish or pinching the skin of your palm! This tool makes the job easy; just place the loop on the outside of the plier jaws and squeeze to open the loop. To close the loop, place the loop inside the jaws and squeeze. Presto, back together again with no marring or cursing! Makes life a whole lot easier if you use a lot of decorative chain. I've used other chain pliers that are heavier duty, but this one works fine. Great tool
